1) Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how nomadapto ("we," "our," "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our marketplace for furnished apartments in Medellin and other cities.

2) Information We Collect

• Account information: email address, password (hashed), name, profile photo, and the city/domain you signed up from.
• Tenant profile (guests): about-me text, work status, languages, stay preferences, location preferences, and profile photo, as you choose to provide them.
• Listing information (hosts): property details, photos, pricing, address, neighborhood, contact preferences.
• Messages: communications between guests and hosts through the platform.
• Reservations: check-in/check-out dates, guest contact details, reservation status.
• Payment information: handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. We may retain transaction metadata (amount, date, listing reference) for tax and accounting purposes.
• Usage data: pages viewed, listings searched, device and browser information, IP address, and session identifiers.
• Cookies: session cookies for authentication and analytics cookies (described below).

3) How We Use Information

• Operate the marketplace: display listings, route inquiries, facilitate messages, manage reservations.
• Process payments for sale listing fees, credits, and trust badges.
• Send transactional emails (inquiry notifications, receipts, account security).
• Improve the product based on usage patterns and feedback.
• Comply with legal obligations, including tax and fraud prevention.
• Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse.

4) How We Share Information

• Between users: When a guest sends an inquiry, relevant profile information is shared with the host to help them decide whether to respond. Similarly, hosts' contact details are shared with inquiring guests when appropriate.
• Payment processors: We share payment information with Stripe to process transactions.
• Service providers: Email delivery (Mailgun), hosting, analytics (PostHog, Google Analytics). These providers only receive information necessary to perform their services.
• Legal requests: We may disclose information in response to valid legal process, to protect our rights, or to prevent harm.
• Business transfers: If we are acquired or merge with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
• We do not sell your personal information.

5) Cookies & Analytics

• We use session cookies to keep you signed in.
• We use analytics services (PostHog, Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used. You can opt out of Google Analytics via browser settings or their opt-out tool.

6) Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where retention is required for tax, legal, or safety reasons.

7) Your Rights

• Access & correction: You can view and edit your account and profile information in your dashboard.
• Deletion: Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• GDPR (EU residents): You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection.
• CCPA (California residents): You have rights to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell).

8) Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9) Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10) International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers, subject to applicable law.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will provide notice (for example, by email or in-app notification).
